COViD 19: Afghan Evacuees Admit To Delhi Hospital Upon Testing Positive
New Delhi, Aug 25: 16 Afghan returned, who were on the Air India Flight AI 1956 from Dushanbe to Delhi, have tested positive for the Coronavirus disease. Out of the 78 evacuees, 25 were Indians.
The flight that was carrying 78 passengers from Kabul landed at the IGI airport on Tuesday. Sikhs who carried the Holy Guru Granth Sahibs from Afghanistan’s Kabul also tested positive.
Union Ministers including Hardeep Singh Puri, V. Muraleedharan and RP Singh, who came in contact with the passengers while receiving them at the IGI Airport, have not been confirmed of the disease, yet.
Evacuees who tested positive have been admitted to the LNJP Hospital in Delhi, while the rest have been quarantined for 14 days at the ITBP camp in south-west Delhi.
