Ashraf Ghani Along With 50 Others Flee The Country After The Taliban Surrounded The Presidential Palace On Sunday.
It’s out, Ghani’s first video message, after fleeing Afghanistan, is out. Former President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, who fled the country on Sunday has taken refugee in the UAE. In a video message addressing the nation(Afghanistan) regarding the recent developments in the country, has said — “I went to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Kabul in Sunday, to investigate the situation with Taliban, but was pulled out by the my security team to prevent a ‘huge plot'”.
Despite, the Taliban promised not to enter Kabul, its members surrounded the Presidential palace on Sunday. And thus, the Afghan security officials lost control, added Ghani.
Ghani, who was allegedly blamed for taking large sum of money with him while fleeing Kabul, reacted to it and has stated it as false. He further stated that, he had not been able to change his shoes or take his personal documents or Laptop, the same Laptop which has all the Government Secret and now is in the hand of others.
In another statement, denying Ghani’s account, the former Interior Ministry Officials has said, that he(Ghani) had asked for his diplomatic passport from the Foreign Ministry a few days before he fled Kabul.

Hashtags Calling Ghani’s Arrest Trends On Social Media
Soon after Ghani’s video message release on social media Facebook, a hashtag trend has started calling INTERPOL to arrest Ghani.
Zahir Aghbar, the Ambassador for the former Afghan Govt. in Tajikistan, who removed Ghani’s portrait in his office has also asked the INTERPOL to arrest Ghani.
On Sunday, the 15th of August after the Taliban forced their entry into Afghanistan’s Kabul and surrounded the Presidential Palace, the then President Ashraf Ghani, his security team, his national security advisor Hamdullah Mohib, the head of the administrative office of President, Fazal Mahmood Fazli and 50 other officials had fled the country. However, the Taliban has not yet commented on any plans to attack the Presidential Palace.
On Tuesday, Ghani’s first vice president, Amrullah Saleh took to the Twitter, self declaring himself as the legitimate caretaker President of Afghanistan according to the country’s constitution.
