Puri, July 9: After the restrictions urged by Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), a woman devotee was seen climbing Lord Jagannath’s chariot on Friday evening.
The incident occurred while ‘arati’ of Lord Balabhadra was being performed on Taladhwaja around 9.25 pm before ‘Adapa Pahandi’ of the deities.
Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said appropriate action would be taken after viewing the CCTV footage.Identity of the sevayat is yet to be verified,
“The devotee who climbed on the chariot was the daughter of a servitor. We will have further discussion on the matter after examining the CCTV footage,” said SJTA public relation officer Laxmidhara Pujapanda.
