Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Tremors were felt on a mild basis in various sectors of Odisha such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Balasore today afternoon around 4.08 pm.
Although people had vacated their homes in panic, as such there is no news of loss of life and property in the state due to this calamity.Besides Odisha, earthquake tremors were also felt in states like West Bengal, Bihar and Assam.
As per Met officials, the epicenter of the earthquake has been traced to central Myanmar. The earthquake was measured 6.8 on the Richter scale there. It’s stated that aftershocks are not expected in Odisha unless they exceed 6.0 on the Richter scale in the epicenter.
