Bhubaneswar: January 02: Intermediate range ballistic missile Agni-IV was test-fired from Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast today at 11.50 am from a mobile launcher, sources said. This is the sixth test of the missile and second user associate launch during its course of 5 years. This has been designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Agni-IV is 20 metres long and weighs 17 tonnes. Also, It has the capacity to carry one-tonne nuclear warhead over a distance of 4,000 km. The missile is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, which include indigenous developed ring laser gyro and composite rocket motor. It is a two-stage missile powered by solid propellant.
