Khurda/Puri, Mar 16: An NGO at Khurda, “ASHA KIRAN”, has been alleged of harassment issues by a little boy. The minor, a resident of Gopalganj district at Bangladesh has brought the issue to limelight. The boy, who was rescued from the Puri Railway station earlier on 8th of March, gave his statement to the Puri Child Welfare Committee (CWC). He alleged of being attacked inside the NGO, by the authorities, and in course, his leg was broken.
Talking to the media, Puri CWC Chairman Sidharth Ray, said, “later the boy was rescued, he was unable to walk properly and also alleged of being hit by a brick on his leg. Meanwhile his physiotherapy sessions are continuing and he is in a state to recover.”
In connection with the allegations, the Puri CWC has sought a detailed report from the Khurda Child protection committee. However, the authorities at Asha Kiran NGO have refused of all allegations, stating that, the boy jumped the walls of the NGO and ran away, which was captured in a CCTV surveillance. Later he was Kept by a person named Manoj Swain, who tried to Blackmail us and also demanded cash. And when the money was not given, they planned the conspiracy against us.
In the scenario, the Puri CWC has is yet to take any decision, as the enquiry is on.
