Konark, Oct 24: In a tragic incident, an information technology (IT) professional identified as Mansa, a resident of Bangalore in Karnataka, drowned while taking bath at Chandrabhaga sea beach in Konark on Sunday.
As per sources, an IT professionals group of 6 girls and 3 boys from Bangalore-based software services firm Mindtree, all undergoing training in the firm’s Bhubaneswar Centre, had gone to the sea beach on Sunday morning. However, Mansa swept away in the deep water current of the sea while taking bath with others in the sea.
Even though one of the boys tried to rescue her, he could not save her. Later, the body of Mansa was fished out by the local fishermen, who also rescued another boy of the group from drowning. The condition of the boy is stated to stable.
A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
