Bolangir, Jan 12: Many domestic animals sacrificed on the occasion of the Sulia Yatra in Balangir district today.
The meeting which was convened on Monday between the pro-animal sacrifice forum Milita Sulia Yatra Manch and the anti-sacrifice Sulia Sanskar Manch and the Balangir district administration failed.
However, Balangir district Collector M Muthukumar said efforts would be made to keep animal sacrifice to the minimum.
Notably, on Sunday, Sulia Yatra chief priest Biranchi Kunwara had requested the district administration to take steps so that the animal sacrifice is stopped during the festival.
