Annual Census of crocodiles: Odisha’s Bhitarakanika to remain close from Jan 2 to Jan 8

Pattamundai, Jan 2: Ahead of crocodile counting process, Bhitarakanika National park will remain close from Jan 2 to Jan 8. It was informed by the official of Rajnagar forest division. Additionally, the official further stated that movement of boats can cause difficulties for the process as crocodiles will not come to land and so from Jan 2 and Jan 3, boats will be restricted to the river. The counting process will be conducted at Bhitarakanika, Rajnagar, Patasala, Mahakalapada, Kanila and Gahiramatha and starting from Jan 4, official pointed out.
