Another 26 Chilika markets to be set up soon by Government

Bhubaneswar, Sep 3: Yesterday the Odisha government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for opening of 26 more Chilika Fresh outlets here.

The Odisha State Fishermen Cooperative Federation (FISHFED) signed the agreement with Falcon Marine Exports Ltd to set up the outlets. It’s stated that the agreement will be in force for 15 years. Also for this set up, the marine products export company would have to pay Rs 61.92 lakh annually to the state government and the lease amount would increase by 2% every year. Falcon Marine Exports Ltd also inked an agreement for shrimp farming in the Kendrapada district.

State Agriculture, Fisheries & Animal Resources Minister, Pradeep Maharathy, Commissioner-cum- Secretary, Fisheries & ARD, Bishnupada Sethi, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, MLAs Bijay Mohanty and Priyadarshi Mishra were present on the occasion.
