Angul, Dec 5: After Puri its Angul now. A minor girl was critically injured at Bhogabereni village in Angul district after a pack of stray dogs attacked her.
Identified as Priyanshi Naik, a four-year-old girl was playing near her house at about 11.30 AM on Saturday morning when three stray dogs attacked her. Hearing her cry the family members rushed to the place, rescued her and rushed her to the district headquarter hospital. The girl sustained multiple bites in her body with a deep cut in her left eye.
The girl has been provided with proper treatment along with anti-rabies vaccine. She seems stable now. But as she has sustained dog bite injuries, she needs an antibiotic called immunoglobulin. The hospital is trying to get it, if not; she will be referred to the SCB medical college and hospital in Cuttack, said sources.
Recently, three days back on the 1st of December a four-year-old boy was killed by four stray dogs in Puri. In the meantime a PIL has been filed in the Orissa HC on Saturday demanding compensation to an amount of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased.
