Bhubaneswar, Mar 10: Yesterday the Asian Athletic Association and Athletics Federation of India (AFI) officials inspected the facilities and infrastructure at the Kalinga Stadium here. The Kalinga Statdium will be hosting the he upcoming Asian Athletics Championship. The officials inspected the venue and also took stock of the new synthetic and warm up tracks which will be completed shortly. They gave positive feedback for organising the mega event scheduled in July here. This was informed by Kalinga stadium-in-charge Bimal Mohanty. Later, discussions were conducted with the Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi where AFI General Secretary, CK Valson claimed that they are positive about the hosting the Asian championship here and for which better facilities will be coming up soon. Around 800 athletes from all over 45 countries will be taking part in the championship. The winners will directly qualify for the World Championship in London, to be held from Aug 4 to 13.
