Attempt to loot IDBI ATM machine in Keonjhar, Odisha; miscreants injure security guard with knife

Joda, Mar 23: Late last night the security guard of the IDBI bank ATM located here in Keonjhar was atacked by two miscreants by a knife when the latter were trying to loot the ATM machine. He is said to sustain critical injuries. The name of the security guard is Lambodar Mahanta. However, Mahanta bared the knife attack and barred the two miscreants away. Mahanta had been at first admitted to the Champua Hospital but was later shifted to the Keonjhar DHH as his condition deteriorated.

Mahanta stated to the media that at around 1 am when he was thinking to doze off, two persons forcibly entered the ATM kiosk and demanded Mahanta to leave the place. On saying a no, one of the attacker hit him on his head with a sword and then shoved a sharp weapon through my chest. Mahanta screamed for help and on seeing that the two miscreants fled the spot along with another person who was waiting outside the ATM kiosk. He could not identify the miscreants as all the three had worn black color clothes with their faces covered with masks.
