Baby langur born at Nandankanan Zoological Park just a day after its ailing father died

Bhubaneswar: June 02: Saturday was a good day for animal lovers as they got the news that a baby langur was born just a day after its ailing father died at the zoo.

The Nilgiri Langur, whose partner died recently, has delivered a baby langur on Saturday morning.

Grief gripped Nandankanan Zoological Park since the day male Nilgiri had died due to diarrhoea and fever. But, on Saturday, the wildlife premises were overwhelmed with joy after birth of a baby langur.

During last three days, India’s lone orangutan Binny and a langur died. The Langur was brought to Nandankanan from Chennai’s Arignar Anna Zoological Park in 2017.
