Bhubaneswar Oct 18: : After a discussion with Jharkhand Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sarju Rai at the State Secretariat here on Monday, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Das Burma made an announcement that for receiving food grains for beneficiaries of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in Odisha, biometrics authentication will be made essential from January next year.
Aadhaar cards of the beneficiaries will be linked to their NFSA cards.
Sarju Rai said that the ration card’s value becomes equivalent to Aadhaar card after adopting this biometric system and alternative system has to be devised for those who do not have Aadhaar card.
