Biopic on Odisha’s social activist, Tulasi Munda won the Best feature film at the IFFS

Bhubaneswar/Shimla, Oct 5: the Biopic on the renowned social activist, Tulasi Munda directed by Amiya Patnaik has been honoured with the title of the ‘Best Feature Film’ at the recent second edition of International Film Festival of Shimla (IFFS). This two-hour biopic was screened on the concluding day of the fest on Sunday which received much positive response from the audience seated at the conference hall there. The movie has been produced by Anupam Patnaik under the banner of AP Production. The cast of the film includes: Barsha Nayak, Madhusmita, Lochani Bag, Premanjan Parida, Mamata Panda and Sujit Paikray. The movie, which encapsulates various struggles and achievements of the Padmashree awardee, has been shot in her birthplace as well as various parts of Keonjhar.

Notably, the movie has won two international awards in a span of less than a month like 21^st Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), 8^th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) and 8^thNasik International Film Festival.  Last month, the movie was screened at 1^st Haryana International Film Festival-2016 where the debutante Barsha Nayak won the Best Actress award in the Feature Film Category.
