Biopic ‘Tulasi Apa’ to be screened at Tehran Jasmine International Film Festival

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15: Honoured with ‘Best Feature Film’ award at the second edition of International Film Festival of Shimla (IFFS), the biographical movie named ‘Tulasi Apa’ on Odisha-based social activist Tulasi Munda, will be screened at the 4th edition of the Tehran Jasmine International Film Festival (TJIFF) which will start from October 30.  It is the only movie from Odisha which will be screened at Ramsar.

The movie has been directed by Amiya Patnaik and produced by Anupam Patnaik under the banner of AP Production.

The cast of the film includes: Barsha Nayak, Madhusmita, Lochani Bag, Premanjan Parida, Mamata Panda and Sujit Paikray.

The movie, which encapsulates various struggles and achievements of the Padmashree awardee, has been shot in her birthplace as well as various parts of Keonjhar.

With significant appreciation, the movie has bagged many awards till now.  Barsha Nayak, debut actress has won the best actress award for this movie under the Feature Film Category.

Apart from this, the movie has been screened at the 21st Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), 8th Nasik International Film Festival and 8th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES).
