Bhubaneswar: Feb 18: State BJP alleged that, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Binayananda Jha has been showing undue favours to ruling BJD during this three-tier Panchayat polls in Odisha in gross violation of the model code of conduct. A delegation of the party led by BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma took up the matter with the State Election Commission (SEC) here today. Sharma said, Under Jha’s direction Police has been harassing physically and mentally to our party workers and leaders across Odisha’. BJP has urged the SEC to seriously consider this case and take necessary action by directing the Home department to immediately relieve him from his duty .
Investigation on the case is underway.
