BJD MP Bishnu Charan Das to quit as Rajya Sabha member

Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: BJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Bishnu Charan Das, yesterday while talking to the media said that he will resign from the post of Rajya Sabha member in two days. The newly appointed deputy chairman of State Planning Board has taken the decision acting on the “one man one post” rule. He will meet the Rajya Sabha Chairperson in two days and give his resignation, he added.

As he has been appointed as the deputy chairman of State Planning Board, he can assume the office only after he quits from the Rajya Sabha post. In two days he will meet the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari and request to accept his resignation.

Notably, he was also appointed as the BJD Dalit cell Convener.
