Banapur: April 19: BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik alleged that Centre had done conspiracy to sell Chilika Lake, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon.
Addressing the Public Meeting at Banapur, Naveen said, ‘BJP-government at Centre tried to put thousands of fishermen in trouble, who have been depending on the lake for their livelihood.
Adding further, he said, ‘Chilka is the mother as it is providing livelihood for thousands of fishermen. I will not allow anyone to destroy Chilka as long as I am alive’.
Speaking on Coastal Highway Issue, BJD Supremo said, ‘BJP Government at the centre wants to expand the Coastal Highway demoloshing the houses of laks of People’. He asked the people, ‘Shall we protect the interest of the People or interest of the contractors?’
