New Delhi: October 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Rakesh Mahajan, and Satpal Sharma as its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled for the 24th of this month.
On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference announced its candidates for three seats in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections: Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sajad Kichloo, and Shammi Oberoi.
The ruling party in the Union Territory has offered the fourth seat to the Congress, indicating an effort to strengthen their alliance and consolidate opposition unity.
Based on their numbers in the assembly, the National Conference-Congress alliance is ahead in three seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leads in one.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to contest the election, which is likely to make the polling more competitive. The party is expected to work hard to gain support from MLAs in other parties for its candidates.
