Naveen alleges Raman as non-cooperative, Uma blames Naveen & Mamta for creating Hurdles.
Bhubaneswar: Alleging on Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik today said, that he was non-cooperative in resolving the Mahanadi dispute.
Calling on a meeting of the two chief ministers with the Union Minister of Water Resources, Uma Bharti, to discuss on the issue of Mahanadi and the said construction of projects on the upstream of the river, was worthlessly non-cooperative. The dispute can be easily solved if the two CM’s sat over a talk, said Naveen while addressing the media.
Though the Odisha Govt. has already sought for Supreme Court’s help and have filed a case, seeking a stay order over the construction activities by Chhattisgarh, Sushree Uma Bharti remained silent, without commenting.
But, in another scenario, Bharti has obviously blamed Odisha CM Naveen and West Bengal CM Mamata for creating obstacles in resolving the river linking project issue.
The Tista-Sankosh-Ganga-Mahanadi-Godavari river-linking project of the central government, will help water from Tista and Sankosh to reach Mahanadi, while the excess water from the river will be sent to Godavari, said Uma during her visit to Odisha for the BJP NEM.
But unfortunately, the duo CM’s of Odisha & West Bengal are likely creating hurdle and the project cannot be executed until the state permits, added Uma.
