Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: The body of veteran Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra aka Lulu Mohapatra, arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar by IndiGo flight 6E 211 today evening. Many of his supporters were waiting outside the airport to get a glimpse and to pay their last tribute to the departed soul.
After arriving at the airport, the coffin carrying his body was taken in a huge procession towards his government quarter under Unit-VI area in the city for the public to pay their last respect to him.
Tomorrow morning, the body will be taken to his native place Gada Rodanga in Puri district where the last rites would be performed. Before taking the body to the native place, it will be taken to the State Assembly and then to the Congress Bhawan.
Notably, Mohapatra was suffering from Liver Cirrhosis and was under treatment in Medanta Hospital since last three weeks. His condition deteriorated after 7.30 pm on Sunday and finally, he breathed his last around 10 pm the same day. Born on February 14, 1964, Mohapatra was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Brahmagiri Assembly constituency in the year 1995, 2000 and 2004.
