Malkangiri, Nov 8: Today the Zila Adivasi Samaj Mahasangh called out a 12-hour bandh in Malkangiri thus harassing normal life here just because the state government proved to be a failure till now to curb the spread of the horrible Japanese Encephalitis. This bandh has affected transportation on the roads and also shops and other business establishments have shut down. It likely to be said that the tribal will also gherao the District Collector’s office tomorrow and would also be submitting a memorandum to the Collector. All this was informed to the media by, Mahasangh president Ghanshyam Madkami. As of till now, the horrid vector-born disease has claimed 94 lives here and despite various steps and awareness drives undertaken by the Health Department and the district administration, the situation is not under control yet.
