Bhubaneswar: July 15: Bolangir Police arrested two people suspected of being involved in the murder of a Plus 2 girl student ‘Seshadri” whose body was discovered in a pool of blood with her throat slit at her home in the Nikhil Nagara Slum area on Thursday.
The arrested suspects are Seshadri’s boyfriend Milan Rana (21) and his associate. Another associate is said to be on the run. The weapon used in the murder of the Plus 2 student has also been seized by police.
Seshadri’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit at her house in the Nikhil Nagar slum area on Thursday. A doll beside the girl’s body was found on the day of the incident.
According to police sources, Seshadri and Milan had been in a love relationship for four years. Seshadri, on the other hand, refused to continue the relationship further.
After Seshadri told Milan to end their relationship, there was an altercation. Following this, she gave back the doll that Milan had given her. According to police, Milan then lost his cool and silted her throat with a sharp-edged weapon.
Milan Rana was arrested from Vijayanagar in Andhra Pradesh when he was trying to flee while Jitu Rana was arrested from Sambalpur, sources said.
The crime scene was recreated by Bolangir police after Milan and one of his associates were taken into custody. The incident is still being investigated further.
