Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: The Bonda couple, who have been invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend this year’s Republic Day parade function in New Delhi, met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Thursday before leaving for the national capital.
Dhabalu Sisa (41) and his wife Samari (46) who are resident of Bandiguda village under Mudulipada gram panchayat of Malkangiri district, are perhaps the first from bonda community to meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
Patnaik presented the couple with shawl and bouquet and gifted a laptop to their young daughter studying in intermediate course.
