Taliban education ministry on Girls Education…
No more education for girls in Afghanistan. Taliban shall allow girls’ education up to Primary level only.
The Taliban have effectively banned girls from secondary education in Afghanistan, by ordering high schools to re-open only for boys, the Guardian reported.
Girls were not mentioned in Friday’s announcement, which means boys will be back at their desks next week after a one-month hiatus, while their sisters will still be stuck at home, added Guardian.
As per the report, Taliban education ministry said, secondary school classes for boys in grades seven to 12 shall resume on Saturday.
Also, Government said, “All male teachers and students should attend their educational institutions.”
So, Afghanistan is the only country on earth to bar half its population from getting a secondary education, Guardian said.
Taliban Government is under financial crisis. They need International recognition and funds. International Community is watching Taliban’s treatment towards women closely. So, if they did not change their attitude towards Women, they may not get International support in future.
Taliban government has also barred majority of Afghan women from work for the last month, calling their male colleagues back into offices but saying security conditions mean it is not safe for women.
But, critics said, this time, it will not be easy for Taliban to bar the girls/women for Education and job, Citizens want to educate women of their families. So, people may come out against the decision of Taliban.
