Bhubaneswar: May 09: After the BJP named Radharani Panda as its candidate for the Brajrajnagar seat, the district president of the Jharsuguda BJP Unit Mangal Sahoo, resigned from his post on Monday.
Mangal Sahoo was associated with BJP for the last 25 years and he has alleged that the party is running without ‘parents’ in Jharsuguda and also in the Brajrajnagar constituency. Sahoo has sent his resignation letter to BJP state present Samir Kumar Mohanty.
In his resignation letter, he said, ‘”My ambition is to strengthen the party Sangathan (organization) with all senior and junior Karyakartas and leaders, but nowadays it is impossible.
Brajrajnagar Assembly seat which fell vacant following the demise of the sitting MLA Kishore Kumar Mohanty shall go for bi-election on May 31.
The last date for filing nomination papers is on May 11 while scrutiny will be conducted on May 12.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is May 17. The counting of votes and declaration of results is scheduled for June 3.
