Bargarh: May 13: An unfortunate incident took place in Salepalli village of Melchhamunda police station in Bargarh district. Allegedly, the mother was brutally murdered while her daughter was getting married. The deceased has been identified as Kishori Rajhans.
The marriage of Kishori’s daughter was scheduled to be solemnized with a youth from Badmal village in the Ghess area of the district on Thursday.
As per the reports, the bridegroom and party arrived at the bride’s house at around midnight. Most of the party members were intoxicated.
Two villagers-Sumant Nayak and Subodh Rajhans of Salepalli village joined the wedding party and danced with them. Looking that, the bride’s mother Kishori intervened and asked the two fellow villagers not to dance with the wedding party.
Two villagers got annoyed with Kishori for objecting them to dance at the wedding party. Further, they attacked the woman with a sharp-edged weapon.
In an atmosphere of laughter and noise, the sudden silence was overshadowed.
The woman was rushed to the Bargarh District General Hospital in critical condition. There the doctor pronounced him dead.
Based on the complaint by family members, police have initiated a probe and launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons who are reportedly absconding.
