Bhubaneswar: February 18: The Budget Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly begins today. In his address, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal lauded the role of the state government in controlling corona.
He further added that the state government was giving utmost importance to address public health and drinking water problems.
He said, “By 2021, waste materials will be processed in all the Municipal areas. The state government is committed to the social security of the differently abled, homeless and senior citizens.’ Further he said, ‘More than 14,500 of ‘Mo Upakari Bagicha’ have been developed during the pandemic period’.’
The government has done a lot to provide drinking water in urban areas. 66 lakh private toilets have been constructed at a cost of Rs 7,500 crore, Governor said in his address.
Governor said, during the pandemic also, the Children’s education has not been disrupted. Education connectivity, Diksha App, Education mirroring methods are being adopted.
Opposition BJP and Congress staged walkout in the first day of Budget session of Odisha Assembly opposing Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal’s address.
The session will run in two phases. The first session will end on the 27th February. The second phase of the session will begin on March 12 and run until April 9. The budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 will be presented on coming 22nd.
