Bhubaneswar, July 30: Budhia Singh on Friday informed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Khurdha and also made it clear that he would not return to the state-run sports hostel in Bhubaneswar, where he had been living since the past nine years, after he got separated from his coach and mentor Biranchi Das.
In a written communication to the CWC, Budhia said he does not want to return to the sports hostel because it lacks basic infrastructure and facilities for training.
After returning from Mumbai on Wednesday, Budhia’s mother Sukanti Singh had said her son would not return to the sports hostel. She had also sought help for private training of her son to improve his performance in running. His mother had also said that she would prefer to send Budhia to a private place where he would get proper training and facilities.
Budhia had earlier complained that he was not being treated properly in the hostel, where he had been staying since 2007.
Police on Thursday had recorded the statements of Budhia and his mother under Section 161 of the CrPC.
Earlier on Friday, the Police Commissionerate had recorded the statement of Budhia Singh under Section 164 of CrPC before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court (JMFC) here.
Police had also registered a case of abduction following the complaint that was filed by the CWC as Budhia was suppose to return back to the hostel on June 7, who had gone on summer vacation on May 1, but took a long vacation outside the state instead.
