Rairangpur/Bhubaneswar: May 25: Miscreants opened fire on two businessmen who have come from West Bengal for cattle trading in Hattabadada under a rural police station in the Rairangpur block of the Mayurbhanj district.
One of them was killed in the shooting. The other man escaped unharmed. The miscreants looted Rs.20 lakh from the businessman. The deceased businessman has been identified as Sheikh Jamshed Ali, a resident of Bengal’s Jhargram area.
There is a cattle market in Hattabadada. Many traders from the West Bengal region come there to buy cattle. At around 8 am on Wednesday, four miscreants opened fire on two businessmen and one of them fell to the ground after a bullet hit his chest.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the businessman to Rairangpur Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investing in the incident.
