Byanjan Dwadashi celebrated 555 dishes at Puri

Puri, Dec 12: On the occasion of Byanjan Dwadashi yesterday at the Gourabihar Math in Puri, about 555 dishes were offer to the deities, Lord Jagannnath, Balabhadra and Subhadra.

The festival is observed on the 12th day of the bright lunar phase of the Margashira month in the Hindu Calender.

Hundreds of devotees piled on at the math to prepare these dishes. With Lord Jagannath and siblings, Radha and Krishna were also offered with the dishes. The dishes include preparations made of rice, pulses and vegetables. And a specialty of the celebration is every year more items are added to the food menu.
