Campaign for Pipili Begans
Campaign for Pipili Bypoll began from today. BJP, BJD and Congress have given final shape to their campaign strategy and plans. Execution of their plans & strategy is more important now to get votes.
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has nominated deceased MLA Pradip Maharathy’s son Rudra Pratap Maharathy, while BJP has fielded Asrit Pattanayak who contested against Pradip Maharathy in the 2019 assembly poll.
Congress’s candidate is Bishwokeshan Harichandan.
A total of 10 candidates are in the fray for the bypoll .
Election to this Constituency was earlier postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Congress candidate Ajit Mangaraj.
Also, by-election to the Pipili Assembly Constituency, was necessitated following the death of sitting MLA Pradeep Maharathy in October last year.
As per ECI, Poll will be held on September 30, and the counting of votes will take place on October 3.
Political parties had already campaigned for the bypoll from April 29 to May 3. That is why, the campaign period has been curtailed to seven days this time from September 20.
