Jajpur, Jan 9: During the wee hours of today, four persons among which two were women, died when a car hit a standing truck by behind at Jarka here. The deceased are yet to be identified.
It’s stated that the car was heading to Bhubaneswar from West Bengal when it dashed against the truck standing on the roadside. While the driver of the car got critically injured, four others died on the spot. The driver was immediately taken to the Dharmasala hospital and was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Dharmasala police station IIC Amitab Mohapatra stated that as per the preliminary inquiry the four deceased were from in West Bengal. Necessary action would be initiated once the corpse after post-mortem would be sent to their family members.
