Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: CBI today issued a notice to Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Prabhat Biswal’s wife Bilasini and Balasore MP Rabindra Jena after both failed to appear before the central agency in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam.

CBI in its notice has asked Bilasini Biswal to deposit some documents related to the scam while Jena was asked to be present personally before it.

Earlier the two were summoned by CBI on November 26 to appear before it in two days, but Jena failed to appear completely while Bilasini sent her representative to appear.

Bilasini along with husband was summoned by CBI in 2014 over their alleged links in the seashore scam. Bilasini had a piece of land which she sold to the group, said husband, but Bilasini had a different view on it as she said that the papers had been readied but the sale never happened.

Jena had also appeared in front of the agency in 2015 for questioning over his alleged links with the group.  Seashore group loaned an amount of Rs 18 crore in 2010 from Supratik group of Companies, which Jena headed. But later seashore had paid back the maximum amount and owed only Rs 1.86 crore more, said sources.
