Cell phones to be prohibited in Classrooms of all institutes in Odisha

Bhubaneswar,  May 22: To ensure a peaceful study environment in educational institutions in Odisha, the State government may ban the use of cell phones inside school, college and university premises. Higher minister Ananta Das stated to media that cell phones used by students and teachers create disturbance and distraction in classrooms thus adversely affecting the academic performance of the students. Also, many teacher associations and educationalists are also advocating the no-cellphone rule in educational institutions. Additionally, the government also plans to stop teachers using phones for evaluating papers. As of now, the matter is still being discussed and the government will soon announce its decision.
