Bhubaneswar: A Central team visited Odisha on Wednesday and took the stock of drought situation in some districts of the State.
The 5-member Central team led by Additional Commissioner of Agriculture ministry R.P. Malik visited Bolangir, Baragarh and Sonepur districts yesterday. The team comprising senior officials of the Odisha Government and a representative of the ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, discussed with the farmers to assess the situation incurred due to scanty rainfall in the State.
The team will also visit Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Kandhamal and Boudh districts. Later, the team will meet Odisha agriculture director.
