Bhubaneswar, April 19: Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud’s son Pankaj Mahakud Monday appeared before the Judicial Magistrate first class here to record his statement in the case file by Kavita Mahakud who claims to have married Pankaj.
The statements have been recorded under section 164 IPC.
Pankaj was asked about the reasons for not showing up to Kabita and their six months old daughter. He is understood to have remained silent.
Notably, Kabita has alleged that she was being harassed mentally. On March 4, she had recorded her statement and urged the police to summon the MLA and his son to the police station for questioning.
On March 10, she had produced “evidences” like marriage-related documents and her daughter’s school admission certificate in support of her claims before the police.She had filed a harassment case with the Mahila police against the MLA and his son-in law.
While, the police had ordered Pankaj to appear before the Mahila Police Station to record his statement which he did not, rather a team of officials went to his house to record his statement.
