Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: A charge sheet has been filed against former Youth Congress (YC) president of Odisha unit Rajat Choudhury today by the CBI in the special CJM court here for his alleged complicity in the multi-crore Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund scam.
The CBI had arrested Choudhury on July 4 this year for his alleged involvement with the AT Group. Following the disclosure of his links with the AT Group, he was suspended from the Youth Congress.
A charge sheet has also been filed by the CBI against the former director of AT Group, Md Haniff.
Notably, the Choudhury came under the scanner of the CBI in the year 2014 when he held a property as power of attorney which belonged to the AT Group and sold it for Rs 94 lakh.
In another incident, Choudhury had acted as a mediator in a land deal in which a person named Mitu Mohanty had allegedly taken the possession of a plot of land from AT Group worth Rs 94.77 lakh without paying a single penny to the Group for the plot.
