Bhubaneswar, June 3: Urging to give institute of national importance status on National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), CM Naveen Patnaik yesterday wrote to PM Modi demanding the same.

As of reports, Naveen wrote to PM demanding national importance to NISER through an Act of Parliament. In the letter he said that the institute has grown to be a great success in the past 9 years of its existence. The state government would lend the hand in giving all possible support to make it a world class institution in the country.

Notably, PM Modi had inaugurated the NISER campus at Jatni on February 6, 2016.
