Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: Among all the educational institutions from Odisha, four of them have made it to the top 100 list of institutes which are announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). These 100 institues have been selected according to the ministry’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for higher educational institutions in India. The four are Sikhsha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in the capital city that has secured the 33rd rank, the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has got 46th rank and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) have been placed at 66th and 77th ranks respectively.
On the other hand, Miranda House in Delhi and Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru are India’s best college and university, respectively. Loyola College in Chennai and Shri Ram College of Commerce acquire the second and third rank in India. The list has been made on the survey of “general degree” colleges by the Human Resource Development ministry and it’s the first time that colleges have been ranked. Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delh is ranked as second while Banaras Hindu University has secured third position. Seven IITs were among the top 10 in the overall ranking category. Indian Institute of Technology in Madras is the top engineering school while Jamia Hamdard is judged the best pharmacy institute. Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad is adjudged the finest management institute. Jadavpur University in Kolkata has been ranked fifth among universities.
