Bhubaneswar: July 25: After the murder of three homeless persons in Cuttack City in a span of 24 hours, it becomes a top task for twin city police to protect the homeless people staying on the streets and lanes of the City.

Accordingly, Twin-City Police has planned to take several steps to prevent such happenings.

Police has been advising people sleeping on the streets to sleep in group and also providing them Police support throughout the night.

Besides, Police have urged social organisations, clubs, associations and Puja committees to provide help to the homeless people.

Also, Twin City Police has intensified night patrolling in the City.

It is to be noted, three murders committed within a span of two days’ in the city of Cuttack. Body of a middle-aged man was recovered in Ranihat area of Cuttack on Tuesday morning while two more bodies with similar injuries were recovered in Chauliaganj and Mangalabag areas on Wednesday morning. All the deceased were homeless men.

As said by Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty, ‘All the murders seem to have been committed by the same person as because the wounds on the three bodies appear to have been done by similar weapon’.

Twin City Police believe, some ‘psycho killer’ has been targeting the homeless people sleeping on the streets.

But, Twin City Police is yet to identify and nab the accused as the murderer has left almost no clues.

Police has been trying hard to gather some evidences which will help to nab the accused.
