Congress’ Adhikar Yatra concludes today

Kandhamal, Aug 13: Today, the five-day Adhikar Yatra initiated by the Congress in Kandhamal district would conclude. This program was initiated in order to protest against the State Government’s continuous failure in providing justice to the family of the five innocent villagers, who were killed in the major firing by SOG personnel on July 8.

It’s stated that the Congress party members will take out a procession from Mahasingh Thakurani temple and head to Baliguda Town, where they would hold a mass protest meet having around 10,000 party activists from various blocks in the district as participants to join the Padayatra and meeting. The meeting would be witness members like Chairman of the Congress Cell on Scheduled Castes, K Raju, AICC Odisha in-Charge, BK Hariprasad, his Deputy, Subhankar Sarkar, PCC President, Prasad Harichandan and Former Presidents, Jayadev Jena, Former Chief Minister, Hemanand Biswal and ex Nabarangpur MP, Pradeep Majhi and others.

To prevent any untoward mishap on the concluding day of the Padayatra, a total of 10 platoons of police force have been deployed at various strategic locations. Besides, 30 police officials, including the Baliguda SDPO, have been entitled to maintain law and order.
