Baba Harekrushna Sethi will be the Congress candidate for the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. On November 3, a by-election to the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency will be held.
Mukul Wasnik, AICC general secretary in charge of the party’s Central Election Committee, announced the decision in a press release.
The by-election was called after BJP MLA Bishnu Charan Sethi died on September 19.
Meanwhile, Suryabanshi Suraj, the son of Bishnu Charan Sethi, filed his nomination papers on Tuesday, while the BJD has yet to name a candidate.
