Puri, Jan 9: In connection with the murder of a lodge owner in Puri, the police have detained 5 persons. Yesterday Chandan Behera was murdered on the lodge premises situated under Sea Beach Police limits. He was attacked by 2 miscreants while entering the lodge premises on a scooter along with his friend Krushna Chandra Pradhan. His friend also sustained injuries in the attack. The miscreants had attacked Chandan with a sharp weapon on the back of his neck and hand following which he died on the spot. On the other hand, Chandan’s wife, Nibedita Behera and his family members reached Puri today morning. Police have handed over Chandan’s mobile phone and other belongings to them. Past enmity is what the cops suspect to be the murder motive.
