Deadline for Pakistani nationals on medical visa ends today

Bhubaneswar: The deadline for the Pakistani nationals on medical visa will end today. Out of the 12 Pakistanis only one woman, Nagma Yusuf has returned to Karachi.

The last date for the Pakistani nationals to leave Odisha ended on April 27, while those on medical visa will end today. Only Nagma Yusuf residing in Bhubaneswar has returned to Pakistani on April 27. The rest 11 have been given a notice to leave India.

The Director General of Police said that, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been intimidated about the 11 Pakistani national. The MHA is yet to give further direction.

All eyes are on the next decision of the MHA and what will be the fate of the Pakistanis residing in Odisha. Another woman identified as Razia Sultana has been residing in Balasore’s Soro since a long time. She has complained that none of her family or acquaintance resides in Pakistan now.

Balangir’s Sarada Kukreja, a Hindu woman with Pakistani citizenship was residing in the district since a long time. She had appealed for Indian citizenship. Will she be given a relaxation?

Odisha government has started the process to cancel the ration cards illegally acquired by several foreign nationals from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The State government has directed all the district collectors to identify the foreign nationals who have managed to get the ration cards under the state’s food security schemes and cancel them at the earliest possible time.
