Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: The death toll mounts to 21 today in the Sum Hospital fire mishap with the death of a person identified as Janaki Hui, while undergoing treatment at Bhubaneswar AIIMS.
After sustaining injuries in the fire mishap on October 17, Janaki was admitted to AIIMS here.
Notably, 20 patients had died due to asphyxiation because of the massive fire outbreak at the Sum hospital that happened due to an electric short circuit in the Intensive Care Unit of the Dialysis ward in the first floor of the hospital on Monday.
Over 100 injured patients who sustained injuries in the mishap were shifted to various government and private hospitals after the incident.
