Malkangiri, Oct 20: With the death of two more persons identified as Ganesh Bisoi of Majhiguda in Mathili block and Rina Soem under Padia block in the Malkangiri district, the death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis has mounted to 60 on Wednesday.
As per reports, Ganesh succumbed to the disease while undergoing treatment at ICU of Malkangiri district headquarters hospital (DHH) whereas Rina died while undergoing treatment at Andhra Pradesh Bhadranchlam hospital, who was earlier discharged from the DHH after being cured of the disease.
However, with the death of these two, the death toll due to the disease has risen to 60 in the last 42 days.
