Bhubaneswar: July 25: In Bhubaneswar, dengue cases are increasing. According to reports, a 9-year-old Khandagiri girl passed away in the capital city from dengue. A 62-year-old woman with dengue allegedly also passed away while receiving treatment at the Capital Hospital.
But, according to health authorities, it has not yet been determined whether they passed away from dengue or from another cause. To determine what caused them to pass away, an investigation is being conducted.
As reported, Dengue spread its wings to 20 districts of the state. While 12 districts have reported fewer cases. Local administrations are carrying out awareness campaigns about mosquito-borne fever among the people.
The city of Bhubaneswar has also stepped up its effort to combat dengue in the region. The Ghar Ghar Sampark programme will be run by physicians from urban primary and community health centres, according to a decision made by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Additionally, the BMC Commissioner has directed that the awareness campaign be stepped up, particularly in dengue hotspot areas. The health workers will warn people not to keep water in their homes or nearby, which frequently turns into a mosquito breeding ground. The team will give demonstrations of it to the public if necessary.
On the other side, health department claimed that dengue case this year are considerably less across the state compared to the corresponding time of last year.
As reported, seven districts have reported 10-40 cases around and in another 12 districts, the number of cases has been confined to single digits so far.
